Question: 'Why is Cakebirth is greyed out when I open it'?

If you experience Cakebirth is 'greyed out', you need to select track 16 in Cakewalk (in the track view), then change the track properties to Channel 16.

In the panel, the default setting for Cakebirth is track 16, channel 16, but you can change both these settings if you wish, by using the dials located on the right hand side of the panel, in the 'master section'.

You will need Hubis loopback device or similar installed. Details are included in the readme.txt included with Cakebirth

Question: 'How do I import Rebirth Instrument definition file?'

1. Save the 'Rebirth instrument definitions (by Fernando Midi).ins' file to a directory of your choice. Go to Cakewalk and choose 'Tools-Instruments' to display the Assign Instruments dialog box.

2. Click Define to display the Define Instruments and Names dialog box.

3. Click Import to display the Import Instrument Definitions dialog box.

4. Choose the file that contains instrument definitions for your Rebirth ('Rebirth instrument definitions (by Fernando Midi).ins') and click Open. Pro Audio displays a list of all the instrument definitions in the file.

5. The instrument definitions you imported should now appear in the Users Instrument list in the Assign Instruments dialog box.. In Cakewalk, choose track track properties, and you can select 'Rebirth 338' as the port. When you look at the piano roll, you can se the controller names, and you can draw in the controller changes you want.
